Lançado no dia 9 de outubro de 1990, Seasons in the Abyss é o quinto álbum da banda Slayer e o último com o baterista Dave Lombardo antes de sua segunda saída da banda.
Nesse disco, o Slayer mistura o "Álbum mais pesado de todos os tempos" (Reign in Blood) com o melódico South of Heaven criando músicas complexas e ao mesmo tempo agressivas.
